jerome was once known as the wickedest town in the west. it started as a copper mining camp, and grew to a roaring mining community. after WW 2 the mine closed down and everyone left jerome.
it became a ghost town and in the 60's & 70's an artists community started living there and today it is a big attraction to see what is left of the old mining town
