beautiful BA

i arrived at 9 pm in buenos aires from panama city
WOW ! what a view ! buenos aires is HUGE !
lights as far as you can see ***

my friend joaquim from porto, who i met in india earlier this year, met up with me in buenos aires :D
we had loads of fun discovering the many different faces of this vibrant, elegant and sexy city

closest i will get to a halo 0:)

there are a lot of old and demolished buildings in the city.
i love the history of 'what once was' that is left on these walls

teatro colon
a gorgeous 7 story building which occupies an entire city block, used as an opera house and for other performances

la boca which is often portrayed as a symbol of buenos aires. in the early 19th century it became the home of spanish and italian immigrants and is known for the brightly painted buildings

el caminito is the most famous street in la boca and is filled with restaurants, tango dancers, a small crafts fair and everything
interesting

joaquim enjoying some spanish wine....
people were quite intimidated when we started asking questions about the wine
i guess between porto and cape town we have high wine standards :)

a beautiful tango show at the restaurant we had lunch

a tango shows in the street

the may revolution is considered the starting point of the argentine war of independence

casa rosada , the presidential palace, beautifully lit at night

x

cementerio de la recoleta
the famous cemetary that holds the remains of the city's most elite
...past presidents, military hero's and of course evita

a melongas and a tango show we went to

floralis generica
a huge impressive metal flower in a reflective water pond standing in the centre of the united nation plaza
really stunning !

jj being funny ;)

ok ,so i have done this twice on my trip
i went to 'listen' to the opera ! what's with that? in paris we did the same
again, the only available tickets were for seats where you can't see the stage..huh
it was great though - definitely worth it- just to experience the theatre and the music was beautiful

again the pink palace - i loved it
we used to walk past it every night on our way back to peru 565

morning coffee :)

the japanese gardens
we kept on missing it ! i think we must have walked past it about 5 x one day

hey , one does strange things when you are happy !

full moon in palermo

a show at ray castro , a bar close to where we stayed in san telmo

i love the statues 'holding up ' the building

the city is covered in graffiti
